''Every day as i write another page of my life story;
The light glorifies a new day before me"
Born in Lismore NSW 1991, and preluding his journey in 'rap' in Inverell NSW. (Where he has been residing since 2004) 'Blake William Walsh' A.KA 'Oratrix' was the first of four children in a family influenced by alternative expression.He vaguely recalls sneaking into his 'half-brother's bedroom where he accidentally listened to burnt cd's of Eminem and Dre as a very young boy. Being captivated by the initial unique style of the music. It stirred something inspirational inside him, and as 'Oratrix' grew up he became fixated on hip-hop more than he did at 'kicking a football' or 'riding a bike'.
Moving to Inverell in 2004, Oratrix developed his hidden passion even further as his awareness of his potential allowed him to 'dream big'. It wasn’t long before he attracted 'like-minded' friends ('Patrick Doyle' and 'Jacob Griffiths') who had previously established themselves as ''Insane Entertainment''. In 2006 Oratrix spent his leisure recording songs and enjoying his talent as it grew. Later in the year Oratrix won the ''Amnesty International''-Make Some Noise' youth music competition. He was flown to Sydney in Oct to perform his tracks at Parramatta Park.
After enduring some hardships within the group, Oratrix decided to leave to search for his individuality in late 2007. However, his paths crossed with ‘Duke Bailey’ (who was later recruited to ‘‘Insane Entertainment’’ but had unexpectedly left several months before Oratrix’s departure) and decided to take another chance in creating the foundation of a new group (now officially known as ‘Vital-Heights’)
For a period of nearly two years, Oratrix enjoyed immense success with ‘VH’, performing around the New England Region and the coast of NSW. As far as recognition goes, Oratrix comments that ‘‘things had gone further with VH then what was ever possible with Insane Entertainment’’. Ultimately it’s what had brought Oratrix into connection with Maladjusted Records. ‘‘Off The Beat-N-Track1’’ was a particular performance Oratrix will always remember. Being the first of its kind of experience for him. For personal reasons, Oratrix has recently departed from ‘VH’ in order to re-establish himself as a ‘solo artist’.
He will finish his senior studies in ‘High School’ during Nov of this year. And intends to release his first ‘commercial album’ entitled ‘‘Raise The Stakes’’ in 2010 (as a follow-up to his recently recorded Demo CD in Byron Bay). Much of the content of this biography has been condensed in information.
For vivid details of what Oratrix has gone through to become who he is, and what he portrays as an Artist, Oratrix comments:
‘‘I would rather let the songs speak for myself’’
