Yomida (hiphop)

“I have had a PhD in crime so its time to transfer these skills into rhyme and show the world my story”

Born in 1979 in beautiful Byron Bay which was a different place back then, a town full of smiles, where the hippies and surfers merged in to create the town it was so famously known for. This was the setting for the beginning of the journey for a young Yomida. He later moved from this picturesque setting to the big city life in Sydney at the age of 8.He toured along with his mother’s boyfriend’s band in and around Sydney for 4 years only to be left with his mother’s boyfriend along with his sister.

Separated from his sister shortly after Yomida went into foster care and moved to Ashfield(a suburb in Sydney). Yomida lived this life until his mother came back into his life and they moved to live in Sydney’s famous suburb –Bondi. Some people say they have it hard, but none have walked in these shoes. Yomida was soon to be thrown out of his own house due to a few mismanaged decisions his mother had made. It was then that Yomida severed his ties with his family and learnt life the hard way, seeing and experiencing things kids his age shouldn’t have been exposed to. Life was Hard. Yomida has always stayed true to his roots-Byron Bay, and on finally returning back this lovely town has been able to settle down, start a family, a new life. With this setting he started putting his story into his music.

From smiles to tears, 900 dollar hotel rooms to park benches the emotions fly in this album. “Vicious cycle” in itself is a testiment to that hard life Yomida endured. They say that Rap is about self-expression and story and nowhere is this more true than in Yomida’s case.
